Kitchen Porter

 

Up to £12.00 an hour depending on experience

Full-time or Part-time (from 10 to 45 hours per week)
Monday to Friday Working Week

Permanent Position

 

If you want to be part of a professional Kitchen Brigade and are keen to learn, this could be the role for you.

 

You need to be enthusiastic and hardworking with a willingness to handle a range of responsibilities, follow instructions and work under supervision. In return, we will offer a competitive rate of pay as well as career progression and development opportunities.

Ideally you will live close to Spofforth or be a car driver. But there are good bus links from Harrogate & Wetherby

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitised

  • Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and ending of shifts

  • Be ready to clean up spills to avoid hindering operations

  • Wash cookware, utensils and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation

  • Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries

  • Keep food and supply storage areas organised

  • Take out the rubbish

  • Help with routine food prep tasks (such as peeling and chopping vegetables) when needed

 

Requirements & Skills

  • A fast learner with an interest in kitchen work

  • The ability to stand for long hours

  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules

  • Good organisational skills

  • The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment

Schedule

  • 8 hour shift

  • Day shift

  • Holidays

  • Monday to Friday

  • Weekend work available
